Crossbow’s Tournament in Ferrara

On the occasion of the "Giostra del Monaco" (“Monk’s Joust”), held in Ferrara from 26 August to 4 September on the bastion of Santa Maria in Via IV Novembre, Saturday September 3 a crossbow tournament will be organized. It is possible install one or more medieval tents adjacent to the shooting range. Those who wished to set up the tents please contact the organization with a few days in advance of the tournament.
Cost for the participation, € 20.00 inclusive of lunch at the tavern on the field (€ 10 without lunch).

The Italian Section of the CERS will organize a European Reenactors Meeting in Rome, in October 22nd and 23rd 2016 – at the “Parco della Cellulosa”.

In the park there will be placed several tents for a multi-age historical camp, with the possibility to use common fires and grilles for cooking.

Draft of program:
- Friday 21st October. In the morning, set up of the camp. In the afternoon, guide tour to Rome
- Saturday 22nd October. In the morning, official meeting. In the afternoon living history at the camp. In the evening: Official Gala/History Dinner.
- Sunday 23rd. During the day: free time at the camp, departure of all the delegations abroad.

MONTECCHIO MEDIEVALE "LA FAIDA"  
The traditional cycle of initiatives that, under the title of "La Faida", celebrates the story of Romeo and Juliet, will take place in Montecchio Maggiore (VI) from 29th April to 28th May 2016. Main event will be the “Medieval festival” on May 1st, with historical market, falconry shows, flag wavers and drums, stilt-walkers, dancing, concerts, parades, exhibitions and guided tours in the castles, waiting the election of “Juliet and Romeo 2016”, special awards disputed between girls and boys aged between 15 and 25 years.


Great Roman Games in Nimes 2016
On Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 April, lovers of ancient history will gather at the amphitheatre in Nîmes to attend a re-enactment of the Great Roman Games. Following the unprecedented success of the previous edition which attracted some 24,000 spectators, this 7th edition will be devoted to the fascinating historical figure of Cleopatra, the last Queen of Egypt. For the occasion, some 500 history fans will come together from all over France and Europe to re-enact the legendary Battle of Actium to the delight of audiences, young and old alike.
A delegation of CERS Roman groups from Italy will attend the event.

Also this year the CERS – will coordinate all the historical parades and displays within the official open ceremony of the Carnival of Venice 2016.
Saturday 30th January, the historical groups of the CERS will attend the “Festa delle Marie”, which evokes the homage that the Venetian Doge offered every year to twelve beautiful but humble venetian girls, offering them magnificent jewels as a bridal dowry.
Sunday 31st January, they’ll attend the “Volo dell’Angelo” (Angel’s Flight) ceremony, following the Doge and his court during e big parade in St Mark’s Square, waiting for one of the most ancient custom of venetian Carnival.

The 12th edition of "Armi & Bagagli – International Re-enactors Market ", will return in Piacenza Expo on 19th and 20th March 2016. A “must” for historical re-enactors looking for special accessories to enrich their equipment, bodies and organizations looking for craftsmen or historical groups to raise the quality of its events, lovers of all kinds! More than 270 exhibitors from Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Ukraine and Hungary.

Expo Arc, the first real fair dedicated to the culture of the arc, will be held on 19th and 20th March 2016, in conjunction with the 12th edition of "Armi & Bagagli – International Re-enactors Market" in Hall 2 of Piacenza Expo.
ExpoArc propose itself as a major initiative dedicated to the bow in all its forms and facets: sport, culture, crafts, educational, historical, hunting until reaching innovative disciplines such as "Archery Combat".
It will set up special areas for training and testing, exhibition areas for manufacturers and distributors of products for archery, but also spaces for meetings of institutions, sports clubs, associations and many others are in various ways directly involved in such activity.
